The Road Ready Nutrition Blog

Let’s get you Road Ready.

A sports nutrition travel blog designed to keep you fueled on the go.

Wow. We are starting a blog!

I was always resistant to the idea because, really, who is taking the time to read long blogs these days?! Well, maybe you…since you are here :)

BUT, then I had the wildddd epiphany that I can make short blogs. There are literally no rules. My aim is to create a resource that provides quick, reliable sports nutrition info. Straight to the point. With a hint of fun if that’s okay with you guys.

As a sports dietitian, I’ve worked with hundreds of pro/collegiate/high school athletes and noticed a theme over the years. It's easy to find a nutrition-rhythm when you are at home. It's much more challenging to stay consistent with nutrition habits on the road. Whether it be due to time change, travel fatigue, congested schedules, food options, weather…you often do not have your normal control over nutrition. And this typically leads to underfueling and underperforming. Home field advantage is so much more than having the local fans behind you.

So, to my point of keeping things concise: this will be a sports nutrition blog that specifically focuses on travel nutrition. Whether you are flying across the world or commuting a few cities away, you likely have to travel for some (lots?) of your competitions. I hope this resource brings you value (and W’s). We’ll explore packing lists, tournament fueling, restaurant recs, food safety abroad, jet lag mitigation and more. Let’s get you Road Ready.
